CBGP Course Recommendations

Synthetic chemistry-oriented student:

FALL OF YEAR 1:

1. Chem 200 – Chemistry Fundamentals (first 5-week module)
2. Chem 260 – Physical Organic Chemistry (second two 5-week modules)
3. Chem 261 ABC  – Organic Reactions

SPRING OF YEAR 1:

1. Chem 271A, B and C – Chemical Biology (three 5-week modules) – this is the course required of all CBGP students (MCB must take this as an elective)
2. Chem 262 – Metals in Organic Synthesis (5 week module)
  & Chem 263 – Synthetic Design I (5 week module)
OR
    Chem 265 – NMR Theory and Application (5 weeks)
& Chem 268 –  Mass Spectrometry (10 weeks)
3. MCB 293C – Mandatory Course on Responsible Conduct of Research
